Out in the Palmeraie, Ksar Tamarine spreads rose gardens, three pools and a serious spa across a walled palm estate, with the Atlas floating on the horizon. It is genuinely beautiful and genuinely far: the medina is a 25-minute shuttle away, so spontaneous souk wandering dies here. Half board makes sense because dinner alternatives are a taxi ride; the in-house restaurants are good, not great.

Paradise with a 25-minute commute to Morocco

Good: Three pools meant zero sibling wars, the gardens are genuinely beautiful, and after a loud medina day the palm-grove silence worked on all five of us like medicine.
Bad: Every spontaneous souk urge dies on the shuttle schedule, and by night three the in-house restaurants had shown us their whole (good, not great) hand.
Verdict: Families splitting a week between pool days and escorted medina trips will be happy; anyone who came to wander Marrakesh on impulse should sleep inside the walls.
