A west-Shinjuku institution with knockout skyline views, a lobby the size of a station concourse, and rooms that have been 'due for renovation' for a decade. The location is genuinely excellent — five minutes from the station's west exit, calm side of the tracks. You are paying for the view and the name; the breakfast buffet is crowded by 7:30 and the Wi-Fi is hotel-grade, which is to say adequate.

Floor-to-ceiling Fuji views on clear mornings carry rooms that otherwise feel like 2009.

Fuji from bed, 2009 from every other angle

Good
Clear morning, floor 31, Mount Fuji filling the window — for ten minutes the rate made sense. The station is genuinely five minutes away, which my schedule appreciated.
Bad
Scuffed furniture, a bathroom from another era, and a 7:30am breakfast room that operates like a trading floor. The 'renovation coming' rumor is old enough to vote.
Verdict
Fine for view-hunters on points; anyone paying cash for comfort should take the same money to a newer tower one stop away.
