The breakfast table derailed our plans daily. Good.

Good: Bánh xèo and phin coffee at one long table with the family, frog-song nights, and hosts who lent bikes, drew maps, and taught our kids to say thank you in Vietnamese.
Bad: Evening hot water is moody when all six rooms shower at once, and rooms are simple in the way that photos make honest — pack expectations accordingly.
Verdict: Families and slow travelers should book the week; anyone who needs resort polish and pool floaties has a beach resort fifteen minutes away with their name on it.
