She quizzed our spice tolerance. She was right.

Good: Denningvleis sharp with tamarind in a rose-pink front room, breyani under a proper crust, and Auntie Fadela's running commentary worth the hill climb on its own.
Bad: Six tables and no alcohol means this is an early, intimate, dry evening — and we nearly bounced off a Ramadan closure because we didn't check ahead like she tells everyone to.
Verdict: Food travelers should book the moment flights are confirmed; anyone whose dinner requires wine and anonymity should admire the Bo-Kaap from a restaurant below.
